Page count and layout limitations
All booklets feature double-sided printing with your choice of crisp black and white or vibrant colour ink. Because each physical sheet is gathered together and folded in half to create four pages, the total page count must always be a multiple of four (e.g. 16, 20, 24 pages), starting from a minimum baseline of 8 pages.
- Maximum limits for standard booklets: You can print up to 76 double-sided pages when selecting matt 90 gsm, silk 130 gsm, or gloss 130 gsm interior stocks. This capacity adjusts to a maximum of 64 pages if you choose to add a thicker card cover.
- Alternative for high page counts: If your page count is higher than our maximum for booklet printing, we recommend opting for our paperback book printing service instead to ensure your document remains sturdy and secure.
Paper weights and text finishes
How your pages handle, fold, and endure over time depends heavily on the paper's weight, texture, and finish. You can fully customise your interior leaves using low-glare matt options (90, 100, 120, 160, and 200 gsm) or polished silk and gloss coatings (130, 150, 170, and 200 gsm).
- Interior pages (130 gsm silk or matt text): Mid-weight paper options, like our 130 gsm silk or matt, often work best for a booklet's interior pages. This weight provides a premium feel with excellent opacity, minimising the risk of text or vibrant images ghosting through to the next page, while still allowing the sheets to fold cleanly at the spine.
- Heavy text weights (up to 200 gsm): Thicker text weights add an upscale, durable feel to corporate literature and high-end presentations. However, you should always avoid selecting heavy card weights for the interior pages of a booklet with a high page count, as overly thick pages will cause the booklet to naturally spring open rather than sit flat, and can lead to a visible "creep" effect at the margins.

For any booklet containing 5 or more pages, you can upgrade from a standard self-cover to a thicker 300 gsm card cover. To protect your saddle stitched booklets and deliver an engaging, tactile finish, you can add a premium matt, gloss, or velvety soft-touch lamination to the outer cover.
