Magazine Printing

Magazine printing is the process of creating printed magazines, which are booklets filled with articles, photos, and advertisements. These magazines are usually printed on glossy paper to make them look attractive.

Here are some common ways magazine printing is used:

  • Company Newsletters
  • Industry Publications
  • Product Catalogues
  • Brand Magazines

Why print magazines?

  • High-Quality Presentation- This enhances the reader's experience and reflects positively on the brand or organization.
  • Tangible Experience- A physical magazine engages multiple senses. Readers can hold it, flip through its pages, and appreciate the texture of the paper, which creates a lasting impression that digital content often can’t match.
  • Better Engagement- Printed magazines can hold a reader’s attention longer than digital content, as there are fewer distractions.
  • Longevity- Unlike digital content that can be quickly scrolled through, printed magazines have a longer lifespan.

Booklet Printing

  • Saddle-stitched binding
  • A6, A5, A4 or DL 148 or 210mm square
  • Matt, silk or gloss
  • 90 gsm to 200 gsm
  • Card covers
  • Cover lamination
  • Square back spine

  • Book store quality
  • Matt - 90 gsm (b&w) or 100 gsm (colour) Silk - 130 gsm
  • Customisable covers & spine
  • Choice of cover finishes

The best sizes for magazine printing typically depend on the type of publication, the target audience, and the desired impact. However, there are a few standard sizes that are commonly used:

  • A4- Suitable for most types of magazines, including company newsletters, product catalogues, and industry publications.
  • A5- Smaller and more compact than the standard size, digest-size magazines are often used for niche publications or pocket-sized magazines.
  • Square sizes- Square-shaped magazines are less common but can create a unique look that stands out from traditional formats.

Design Tips for Creating a Magazine

  • Define Brand & Audience: Align design with brand identity and audience preferences.
  • Strong Cover: Use eye-catching images, clear typography, and a visible logo.
  • Typography: Limit fonts (2-3), ensure readability, and create text hierarchy. Please ensure all fonts are embedded.
  • High-Quality Images: Use high-resolution, relevant visuals, and consider full-page images. We recommend at least 300DPI.
  • Visual Flow: Keep layouts consistent but vary visual elements for interest.
