Professional spiral bound books
Spiral binding is a practical and versatile way to present books, manuals, reports and other frequently used documents.
The pages open flat on a desk and can be turned easily, making spiral bound books particularly suitable for documents that readers need to write in or refer to regularly.
From training manuals and workbooks to planners, portfolios and recipe books, you can create a spiral bound book tailored to your project. Choose your preferred size, paper, covers, printing options and wire colour before previewing every page online.
There is no minimum order quantity, allowing you to print one spiral bound book, order an initial proof or produce a larger run for your business, school or organisation.
Choose your spiral bound book specification
The size, paper, cover and binding position you select will influence the appearance and usability of your finished book.

How to prepare spiral bound artwork
Correctly preparing your artwork will help prevent text, images and other important content from being affected by the binding edge.
Design and formatting guidance
Upload your artwork in a single multi-page PDF in the correct reading order.
The first page of the file should be the first printed page of the document and can also be your front cover should you want your covers to be printed on card.
Check our online preview carefully to confirm that every page appears in the correct position.
Allow space for the binding edge
The pages are punched along the selected binding edge. Keep text, images, pages numbers and other important elements away from this area. As a general rule we recommend at least a 15mm margin on the binding edge and 5mm on all other edges.
Bleed
If an image or background colour should extend to the edge of the paper the you will need to include at 3mm of bleed.
Use high-resolution images
Images should be approximately 300DPI.
Colours
Set your artwork up in CMYK where possible. An exact colour match cannot be guaranteed due to differences within the digital print process.
Previewing and proofing
Doxzoo’s online previewer acts as your digital proof. Check it carefully before completing your order.
- All pages are included and in correct order
- The document has the correct orientation
- Double sided pages turn in the intended direction
- The coil is positioned on the correct edge
- Text and important images are clear of binding holes
- Full-page background extend to the bleed area
- Covers and tabs are positioned correctly
- Fonts, paragraphs and images are displayed as expected.
For an important project or larger order, consider ordering one copy first. A physical proof gives you an opportunity to check the paper, covers, colours, binding and overall finish before ordering more copies.
