As part of our series of customer interviews, today we’re joined by Kimberley aka YourOnlineWeddingPlanner.

Her lovely wedding planners caught our eye, so we decided to find out more…

    Tell us about yourself…

Hello there! I’m Kimberley from Belgium, am 25 years old, a wedding-holic, and run the YourOnlineWeddingPlanner blog and online shop UltimatePlanners.

I design wedding planners for hands-on brides and bridesmaids that aim to make the wedding planning journey stress- and clutter-free so more attention can be given to the fun, joy, and being in the moment of the wedding planning journey.

When did you start Your Online Wedding Planner? What’s the history?

    Wedding Planner Set

YourOnlineWeddingPlanner is my small business which I started with no more than a laptop and a dream so that I could share this with brides all over the world. Ever since I was a little girl I loved putting together how-to-guides, booklets, storybooks, and instruction manuals. As I grew older this passion for organizing anything and everything suddenly became paired with a true and deep found fascination and love for weddings triggered by endless hours of rom-com watching, TLC’s “Say Yes To The Dress” re-runs, and countless episodes of “Four Weddings“. These two passions stayed with me to the point where I decided to put one and the other together.

After months of research, endless drafting and designing I made my first wedding planner in 2016 –UltimatePlanners, my wedding planner shop, was born! Of course this wasn’t enough – no, no! I needed a voice – a voice that could help new brides plan their own wedding efficiently, hassle-free, and stress-less.

My belief is that too much fuss is being made around the technical aspects of wedding planning which causes one to forget how to truly enjoy and remember the experience. BOOM! Six months later I became the proud owner of YourOnlineWeddingPlanner – Wedding Planning Made Easy blog.

YourOnlineWeddingPlanner takes the thinking out of the “over-thinking” and instead gives you “over-joyed” wedding planning! With weekly blog posts, free guides and downloads, tips & tricks, and the occasional rant I hope to help brides plan their wedding efficiently, hassle- and stress-free so they can have the wedding they want while enjoying every last bit of the journey.

What are your most popular products?

My top selling items at the moment are the Disney wedding planner, pink Maid of Honor planner, LGBT wedding planner and custom designs.

What are your plans for the year ahead?

This year I want to focus on bringing the blog back to life (as this has been rebranded and streamlined) and work on more digital planners. There’s been such a great response to these as they’re quick to download, plug & play, and want to offer more variety so there’s something available for everyone depending on their taste, color scheme, etc. Of course I will continue working on designs for the bound planners – coral seems to be a big rising trend so am looking forward to seeing which designs that will lead to!

What is your top piece of advice for a bride (or groom) planning their big day?

ENJOY THE JOURNEY! So often brides will get caught up in the stress of all the wedding planning chaos that they forget about the end goal; marrying the person they love and enjoying the wedding planning journey.

What advice would you like to share with other creatives hoping to set-up a similar business?

100% go for it! Of course, do your research so you’re prepared and have a clear idea of what products/service you want to offer to which audience, but in the end you just have to take the plunge and go for it, don’t let anyone stop you. The best feeling in the world is knowing that somebody has chosen to purchase your particular design out of all the options out there or ask for a custom design either for themselves or as a gift to someone they love and that you are able to offer that to them. I love making people happy!

    Thanks, Kimberley!
