Should I Print My Zine As A Booklet Or Book?

Option 1 – Saddle-Stitched Booklet Printing

Saddle-stitched booklet printing is a popular zine printing and binding option.

It’s an affordable yet professional binding style which can accommodate from 4 to 120 pages. It’s ideal for shorter zines.

Our booklet printing service is available in A5 and A4 size as standard, however we can print custom size booklets by request.

We also offer a square back binding option, which provides a look similar to a perfect bound book spine. This also makes the booklets easier to stack when you’re showcasing them at local events, conventions or simply in the pub!

Option 2 – Paperback Book Printing (Perfect Binding)

In contrast to booklet printing, paperback book printing (perfect binding) is a more durable and professional option. You can also design an eye-catching spine.

The minimum page count is higher, so it is more appropriate for longer zines.

How Should I Set-Up My Zine For Printing?

Our preferred print format is PDF, so we recommend exporting your zine artwork in this format.

Our website system cannot currently accept double page spreads, so please also ensure that your file is set-up with single pages.

We recommend a bleed of 5-7mm.

For paperback books, a spine design is required (or if you prefer, you can leave it blank). Once your file is uploaded, spine artwork can be created using our Cover Design Tool.
