Tell us about yourself\u2026<\/h3>\n

Hello! I\u2019m Lexie, I\u2019m 25 and I run online shop Little But Fierce Design. I create stylish foil art prints with a quirky quote edge.<\/p>\n

When did you start Little But Fierce Design? What’s the history?<\/h3>\n

The shop was originally under a different name but I rebranded last April after realising I needed a change.<\/p>\n

The new name is inspired by William Shakespeare\u2019s \u2018A Midsummer Night\u2019s Dream\u2019. The full quote is \u2018though she be but little, she is fierce\u2019.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s an ideal way to describe my work but also myself (I\u2019m small but incredibly fierce!). I\u2019ve designed my own art prints and greeting cards for a few years now and I love it!<\/p>\n

What (or who) is your inspiration?<\/h3>\n

Motivational quotes really encourage me but I\u2019m also driven by my love of television and film. A lot of my art prints are quite sassy and realistic. No one can be perfect all the time and sometimes you just need a funny quote to give you a nudge in the right direction.<\/p>\n

What are your favourite 3 quotes?<\/h3>\n

My favourite quote of all time is from Shakespeare\u2019s Romeo and Juliet:<\/p>\n

\u2018go girl, seek happy nights to happy days\u2019<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

I remember studying the play in school for my GCSEs and it really stood out. It\u2019s strange to enjoy a text so much after spending so much time studying it but it remains a real favourite.<\/p>\n

I also love:<\/p>\n

\u2018well behaved women rarely make history\u2019<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

It\u2019s such a fantastic quote for encouraging someone to push the boundaries and challenge the world. It\u2019s my best seller and I think a lot of women can relate to it.<\/p>\n

\n

\u2018Life is short and the world is wide, I wanna make some memories\u2019<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

is a new quote from Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again. Its origin may be odd but I found it at a time when I really needed some courage and I find it really inspires me on days when I can\u2019t motivate myself.<\/p>\n

What advice would you like to share with other creatives hoping to set-up a similar business?<\/h3>\n

Just do it! I started with not a lot of money but with big dreams and I really wanted to push myself and try something new. It gives me a real thrill to see people buy my creations or want to work with me to create a special personalised piece for a loved one.<\/p>\n

What are your plans for the year ahead?<\/h3>\n

I\u2019m hoping to expand my prints range with the help of Doxzoo. I\u2019d also love to create a new range of cards as I think my quotes would suit a variety of occasions.<\/p>\n
